Quote of the week
Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. Love isn't selfish or quick tempered. It doesn't keep a record of wrongs that others do. Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil. Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting. Cor. 13, 4-7 I have been reading this passage many times but somehow I never made the connection to working with children, especially with difficult and hurt children like the street children, the children in the slums and the abused ones who have suffered a lot and have a hard time to understand and accept love, because they have not had much experience with genuine, no strings attached love! Here we are challenged to exactly that kind of love, love who does not remember the bad things that happened, the unpleasant experiences we had with the children but a love that is fresh and ready to reach out every new day. A love that always trusts and hopes for the best in the children. Thats the way Jesus loves us, are we ready to do the same?
