Outreach in the North East

During the first week of the camp, in the lower village the first few days were very quiet in the classrooms. The children were all very shy. But as the third day of the camp came we all began to notice a change. Many of the children said goodbye when they left the room and said goodnight after fellowship time. The children all listened and came to understand each lesson and on the teaching of Jesus many prayed to receive Christ. My favorite day though was the Holy Spirit teaching and seeing the children standup and ask for prayer to receive the Holly spirit. It was a privilege to be able to pray for each of them and witness God touching their hearts. I really enjoyed the first week and will always remember those children. The second week in the upper village was very different than the first. The children were not as interactive and didn’t seem to understand the teachings. But as we all as a team continued to pray the children began to open up more. By the second day to last day they were all playing games with us and opened much more. I also enjoyed the second camp because I felt that the Sunday school teachers grew just as much as the children, and many stood in response to who wanted to give Jesus all of their heart leaving really touched my heart to see the kids lined up to shake our hands, and then to have several of them chase our vehicle as we left. It was so incredible to see they truly enjoy us being there. Rebecca

Voices of children after the camp

Hi! My name is Rumani Ronghang. It’s a great opportunity to be together with my friends from different places. I am very much touched and bless throughout the camp, specially the teaching “without Jesus it is impossible to live as a healthy life even in physical too. I also have come to learn about the Holy Spirit how I should allow Him through accepting and believing in my daily life as a councilor.

Hi! My name is Jonah Anjal, This is the first ever children camp I attended. I really enjoyed it. My father is a church elder, but there was always confusion about the trinity (3 in 1) God has brought this camp that I could able to learned clearly about the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit is same. It is also very much challenging of serving God in different ways and the decision that could able to serve God as we pick-up garbage yesterday. I pray and believe that God will be with me wherever I am.

Ashapari News from Kolkata

We are very much thankful to God for the works He is doing through the Ministry. We experience his faithfulness in a new way everyday. We appreciate you all so much for standing with us in prayer & also supporting us in many ways to run the ministry. In this three months God has done a lot of good things in the children’s lives & the families.

Night shelter:

In the last newsletter we asked for your prayers to enable us to start the night shelter for the girls. God has answered our prayers & we found a very good house & started the night shelter on the 12th May & it has been going on very well. A family from US is helping us to pay the monthly rent & we are so grateful to them. About 5 to 8 girls come to the shelter every day. The female staffs take turns to look after the girls & sleep at the night shelter. They are very excited & keeps the house clean everyday they make sure the house is clean.

Education:

The Nzan-Love project, started by a couple from Nagaland, is helping with the education of our children. The children are taught English, Bengali, simple Mathematics, basic, science, cursive writing, general knowledge & coloring. The older children are learning very well. Continue to pray for this project & the people involved in this project, for wisdom & their needs.

Baptism:

In our last news we wrote about the baptism of our cook Mashima & one of our girl Jamuna. Only Mashima got Baptized & Jamuna did not get Baptized because of family pressure & also enemy really took her away from us at that time. We are very sad but our prayer is that one day she will give her life to God & also many more children.

Ashapari (House of hope):

The children have grown a lot spiritually & physically. They have learned to forgive & love each other & respect the staffs. The staff & volunteers are all doing very well. God is always so faithful to us & He has been always there for us in all our needs & guiding us every step. The children started changing their habits of eating unhealthy things & started saving their little money that they earn. It’s wonderful to see God is changing their lives day by day.

Right now there are only three of us (staff) who have a long term commitment & some volunteers. We are in need of more workers & we are looking for men, women & families who can give long term commitments for at least over a year or two years. We want to thank all the different teams & Volunteers from different parts of the world who came & help us in the ministry. All we can give in return for their selfless help are “Thank you” & our prayers for God’s rich blessings in their lives.

House:

We have seen a house (three-storey building) with 15 rooms & 6 toilets & the cost is Rs 70, 00000 lakhs (Seven hundred thousand rupees) it has 2000 sq.ft area. Along with it there will be other fees like broker’s fee, lawyer’s fee, stamp fee, and document transfer fee. So, we would be very grateful to you all if you could stand with us in prayers, and if the Lord speaks to you, to donate any amount towards the expansion of this vision God has given us.
